Digitwin North Sea – MSP Challenge

LATEST-NorthSea

Free open source software for the maritime economy and marine environment

The Maritime Spatial Planning (MSP) Challenge Simulation Platform was developed by Breda University of Applied Sciences (BUas) to provide policymakers, stakeholders and students with insight into the maritime (blue) economy and the marine environment, and how to improve them with spatial plans.

MSP Challenge integrates the best available geo, maritime and marine data with simulation models for ecology, shipping and energy production. The platform is designed to get users engaged. It is excellent for stakeholder engagement, spatial planning based on co-design, knowledge development and education.

To achieve all this, the latest game technology and a game design mindset are used.
The MSP Challenge North Sea edition provides a solid basis for the Digital Twin of the North Sea, with an emphasis on the Dutch EEZ.

The software is free and open source and will be further developed in all kinds of projects in the coming years. Go to www.mspchallenge.info to download and install it.
